JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the head women’s softball coach, the assistant softball coach will help provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of a competitive program.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Strong ability to assist in providing overall leadership of the softball program
• Proven recruiter and evaluator
• Ability to foster a strong and positive culture within the program
• Maintain high level of academics
  Assist with the management of coaching, team practices, competitions, road travel, scheduling, workouts, academics, and life skills
• Assist in managing the program budget and team travel
• Ensure compliance with all department policies and guidelines
• Comply with all applicable Howard University, MEAC, and NCAA rules, guidelines, and policies

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:

Reports to the Head Softball Coach.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree required.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Two plus years successful coaching experience preferably at a collegiate level or club level.

SALARY RANGE DISCLOSURE:

$47,000 - $50,000
