About the Role:

As a Hybrid Associate Mental Health Therapist and Intake Clinician, you will play a dual role in providing teletherapy services and conducting initial assessments for students in our partner school districts. This position is essential in ensuring students receive timely, comprehensive mental health care tailored to their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teletherapy Services:

    • Provide evidence-based teletherapy to students.
    • Collaborate closely with school counselors and other relevant providers.
    • Build trusted relationships with students and families.
    • Provide psychoeducation and support to parents and caregivers.
    • Participate in case consultations and clinical team discussions.
    • Contribute to the on-going development of Daybreak Health’s clinical programs.
    • Attend weekly 1:1 and group supervision.
  • Intake and Assessment:

    • Conduct thorough intake interviews to gather detailed client information, including medical, psychological, and social histories.
    • Assess the immediate needs and concerns of clients to determine the appropriate level of care and services required.
    • Evaluate client access to Zoom and their ability to establish a private and safe session environment.
    • Determine the suitability of clients for Daybreak and telehealth services.
    • Identify primary needs that may warrant referral out.
    • Assess the severity of the diagnosis and the client’s level of engagement or interest in services.
    • Provide immediate support and crisis intervention as needed, including creating safety plans.
    • Timely and accurate documentation of client interactions, assessments, and engagement with other organizations (e.g., CPS) in accordance with organizational policies and confidentiality regulations.
    • Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to facilitate timely referrals and ensure clients receive comprehensive care.
    • Work closely with clinical staff, supervisors, and other team members to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to client care.
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Licensure:

    • Active, Associate clinical license such as LPC, LSW, AMFT in Illinois.
  • Education:

    • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    • Experience in a clinical or mental health setting working with school-aged children.
    • Experience with telehealth and delivering care to school-aged children.
    • Experience in intake and assessment preferred.
  • Skills:

    • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong technological skills and familiarity with EHR systems.
    • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software.
    • Knowledge of the use of the Zoom platform.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work during peak hours (Mon-Fri, 11-1pm & 3-8 PM CST).
    • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) preferred.
