Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta’s Global Branding and Creative Factory team is seeking a Global Creative Operations Lead in Madrid. This role will lead the development of a unified, digital-first brand narrative across markets and business areas, while managing Syngenta’s internal Creative Factory.

The role brings together creative direction, operational leadership, AI-enabled ways of working, and strong business partnership. It is well suited to someone with agency or in-house agency experience who enjoys building capability, leading diverse teams, and turning complex scientific and commercial topics into clear, engaging creative work.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the global brand storytelling approach, ensuring Syngenta’s narrative is consistent, accurate, and relevant across markets, channels, and audiences.
  • Oversee and further develop the internal Creative Factory work, creating an environment where teams can experiment, learn, and deliver high-quality creative outputs.
  • Manage and develop a global multidisciplinary team and collaboration with colleagues across Europe, India, Pakistan, Ukraine, and other markets.
  • Partner with global brand leads, marketing, R&D, communications, digital, and market teams to translate business priorities into clear creative strategies and campaigns.
  • Drive the practical use of AI, digital tools, emerging media, and data-led storytelling to improve creative quality, speed, relevance, and impact.
  • Manage creative resources and budgets effectively, balancing quality, cost, internal capability, and the use of external agencies where specialist support is needed.
  • Measure creative and brand performance using insights, feedback, analytics, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in brand strategy, creative direction, marketing innovation, agency leadership, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams and delivering large-scale brand or campaign work across multiple markets.
  • Strong background in digital-first storytelling, content strategy, creative operations, and emerging creative technologies, including practical use of AI.
  • Experience connecting creative ideas to business outcomes, including cost, impact, audience engagement, and brand effectiveness.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders and technical experts, including scientists, agronomists, marketing teams, and commercial leaders.
  • Experience managing budgets, creative resources, and external agency relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the ability to work across cultures, time zones, and different levels of English fluency.
  • Comfortable working in an evolving environment, building new ways of working, and helping teams adapt to change.
