Essential Job Functions
- Provide advanced clinical support to medical and behavioral health providers, including complex procedures such as venipuncture, wound care, EKGs, spirometry, and diabetic foot checks.
- Administer medications and injections (IM, SC) in accordance with clinic protocols.
- Mentor and serve as a preceptor for newly hired and junior medical assistants, assisting in training and competency assessments.
- Coordinate patient care activities including follow-ups, appointment scheduling, lab processing, and care transitions.
- Facilitate team huddles and contribute to interdisciplinary meetings to enhance collaboration.
- Support providers by assisting with medical scribing and accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Maintain compliance with infection control procedures, HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with external partners to coordinate referrals, hospital follow-ups, and continuity of care.
- Assist with maintaining clinic supplies and workflow efficiency, including support for street outreach and respite care services when applicable.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications Summary
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a high-volume clinic or community health setting

Prior experience in ambulatory, public, community, mental health, emergency, or critical care preferred.
- Experience with respite care or street outreach is preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is REQUIRED
- Expertise in advanced clinical procedures and medical assistant best practices.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills with the ability to train and support junior staff.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems for documentation, scheduling, and task management.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a trauma-informed, patient-centered approach.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent training (EMT or CNA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Valid CO Driver's License is REQUIRED
