About the Team:
Define and drive the monetization and business strategy across the entertainment portfolio of Cluster 1 comprising of General Entertainment, Movies, Kids, Youth, International and Star Studio 18 across linear & streaming. Focus on maximizing revenue potential, building new revenue pools, and shaping long-term growth, in partnership with leadership teams across functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Revenue Strategy & Monetization Architecture
- Define the monetization strategy across advertising, subscriptions, consumer products, licensing, partnerships, international and more.
- Build a screen-agnostic revenue architecture across linear, streaming, and studios
- Identify opportunities to unlock incremental yield, pricing power, and revenue mix improvement
Expectation: Define how revenue is unlocked and scaled across the portfolio
2. Business Strategy & White Spaces
- Identify white spaces and structural gaps across the value chain including content, platform, distribution, and monetization
- Drive strategic interventions to unlock new growth opportunities across verticals
- Lead business cases for new investments, partnerships, and expansion opportunities
Expectation: Shape future growth vectors beyond current business plans
3. New Revenue Engines (0→1 and Scale)
- Identify and incubate new revenue streams beyond existing models
- Build adjacent opportunities across IP monetization, experiences, commerce, and new formats
- Partner with business teams to transition pilots into scalable revenue lines
Expectation: Build new engines; handhold till scale, not run them as steady-state P&Ls
4. Embed Commercial Thinking into Core Decisions
- Ensure monetization is designed into content, product, and distribution decisions upfront
- Drive a commercial-first lens across key initiatives and portfolio bets
- Influence decision-making to improve ROI and long-term value creation
Expectation: Shift monetization from downstream outcome → upstream input
5. Cross-Functional Influence & Alignment
- Work across Ad Sales, Distribution, Content, Product, and Finance to drive alignment on revenue priorities
- Enable business teams with clear strategic direction and monetization frameworks
- Drive closure on high-impact, cross-functional initiatives
Expectation: Influence without owning line execution
6. Strategic Planning & Leadership Narratives
- Lead development of CEO/CXO-level strategy decks and narratives
- Anchor AOP and long-range planning inputs from a monetization and growth lens
- Bring together market, consumer, and competitive insights into clear strategic recommendations
Expectation: Shape the thinking that drives planning, not the plan itself
Success Metrics
- Improvement in monetization efficiency and yield across revenue streams
- Scale and contribution of new revenue pools / business lines
- Tangible impact on revenue strategy and business direction
- Adoption of monetization frameworks across business units
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:
- 12–15 years across strategy, revenue, or business roles
- Experience in defining monetization strategy and building new businesses
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to connect content, product, and revenue outcomes
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders in a non-line ownership role
