The Engineering Dock Master is responsible for overseeing dock operations with a strong focus on engineering, maintenance, and safety compliance. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials, equipment, and vehicles while managing dock infrastructure, coordinating maintenance activities, and supervising dock personnel. The Engineering Dock Master serves as the technical lead for dock-related systems and supports facility engineering objectives.
Pay: $35.00 - $38.00/hour
The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on the applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Dock Operations & Supervision
Oversee day-to-day dock operations, including scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments, equipment staging, and dock assignments
Supervise dock personnel to ensure productivity, safety, and compliance with operational standards
Coordinate with logistics, engineering, facilities, and security teams to ensure seamless operations
Monitor dock traffic flow and resolve bottlenecks or operational issues
Engineering & Maintenance Oversight
Inspect dock equipment and infrastructure (dock levelers, doors, seals, lifts, conveyors, forklifts, bollards, restraints) for proper operation
Perform or coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance on dock systems and related mechanical equipment
Identify equipment failures and initiate repairs, work orders, or vendor service calls
Assist with minor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or structural repairs related to dock operations
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
Safety & Compliance
Enforce OSHA, facility, and environmental safety regulations
Conduct safety inspections and ensure use of proper PPE
Respond to incidents, equipment malfunctions, and emergency situations
Support lockout/tagout procedures and equipment safety protocols
Administrative & Leadership Duties
Train dock staff on equipment operation, safety procedures, and standard work practices
Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, and performance monitoring
Maintain records for dock activity, equipment usage, inspections, and incidents
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to dock efficiency and safety
