Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you’ve come to the right place!
E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.
We’re intentional, we’re unapologetically curious and we’re 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life.
We are hiring a Board Reliability Simulation Engineer to lead reliability analysis and simulation for all avionics boards in our satellite program. You will use tools like Ansys Sherlock to predict board-level reliability, identify failure modes, and drive design improvements that ensure long mission life in the space environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform board-level reliability simulations using Ansys Sherlock and related analysis tools.
Develop and execute HALT/HASS test strategies for avionics boards.
Conduct Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) modeling and life-prediction analysis for board assemblies.
Perform Weibull analysis and reliability-distribution modeling from test and field data.
Develop DFMEA/FMEA and integrate findings into design cycles.
Identify infant-mortality characteristics and develop early-life failure reduction strategies.
Create stress screening plans covering thermal, vibration, and electrical overstress.
Perform component derating analysis aligned with reliability standards for space applications.
Evaluate electronic components for radiation tolerance (TID, SEE, SEU, SEL, SET, SEB) in collaboration with design engineers.
Analyze semiconductor manufacturing processes and their impact on radiation performance.
Document reliability results, methods, and recommendations clearly for design teams.
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams to improve long-term system robustness.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
3+ years of experience in reliability engineering or analysis for electronics.
Experience with reliability simulation tools (Ansys Sherlock strongly preferred).
Knowledge of FMEA/DFMEA methodologies and reliability standards.
Understanding of failure mechanisms in electronic assemblies (solder fatigue, via cracking, component wear-out).
Experience with statistical analysis of test data and reliability modeling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with satellite or spacecraft hardware reliability analysis.
Background in radiation effects analysis and component qualification for space.
Familiarity with Weibull analysis tools and accelerated-life testing methods.
Experience interpreting radiation test reports and vendor lot-specific performance data.
Knowledge of IPC and ECSS reliability standards.
Understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and their reliability implications.
Tools & Technologies:
Ansys Sherlock (board-level reliability simulation)
MATLAB or Python for statistical analysis and modeling
Reliability prediction tools (FIDES, MIL-HDBK-217, or equivalent)
