Description
Civil and Transportation leader for public and private market sector work, initially focused on our Central and Southern Tier New York geography. Positively reinforce, expand and promote our brand of civil and transportation outside the core geography while complementing our existing teams in other LaBella offices.
Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify opportunities - target client and teaming partners for market-based initiatives.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key municipal clients
- Participate in business planning with Discipline and Regional Leader.
- Actively represent LaBella at Business Development external functions/organizations.
- Lead preparation / author proposals.
- Expand placemaking opportunities and services within LaBella. Educate the need/benefit of such offerings.
Management
- Collaborate with Civil Team, Regional and Discipline Leaders to manage and direct work.
- Conduct regular check-in meetings with Civil Discipline Leader.
- Monitor and report on project schedule, financial goals and resources.
- Work with the transportation department for key project initiatives and pursuits to build backlog and distribute labor resources for executing transportation specific work, more specifically:
- More support on trails/active transportation projects specifically in the southern tier
- The ability to generate more trails/active transportation leads
- Provide technical input on transportation planning across our work portfolio as the need arises
- See what relationships exist in the northeast that could become LaBella opportunities
- Work with the landscape architecture discipline to execute key projects with overlap with your region, focus and skill set.
- Coach and mentor younger / less experienced staff. Foster opportunity for hiring production level staff.
Technical / Production
- Serve as project manager for municipal, recreation space project types.
- Serve as placemaking/transportation technical lead for local/regional projects.
- Assist with integration of transportation, civil and placemaking services with environmental and architecture disciplines.
- Support existing civil engineers, transportation leaders, landscape architects and planners in other offices on project-by-project basis.
- Present projects for municipal land approvals.
- Maintain a target utilization goal set by Discipline Leader with the expectation that the same leaders provide you with the flexibility to expand our brand, reach, in an expectation to grow business and option new clients.
Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
Requirements
The position requires experience with transportation, recreation, site design and the public approval process for SEQR in New York State., commercial and mixed-use developments, institutional and industrial) and public (municipal facilities including parks, greenways, and streetscapes) projects within the Central and Southern Tier of New York.
