Description
Xcimer Energy leverages decades of research on Inertial Fusion Energy (IFE) combined with groundbreaking new laser architecture. Our mission is to deploy fusion power plants to meet global decarbonization goals as fast as possible. Xcimer has assembled a team of leaders in tough tech, fusion science, and manufacturing with a track record of rapid execution. Supported by leading investors, Xcimer is uniquely positioned to deliver limitless, clean, fusion power to combat climate change. Join us in powering a better world with inertial fusion!
As the Laser Beamline Lead for Phoenix, you will own, and be accountable for, the proper operation of Phoenix beamlines – a state-of-the-art collection of seed lasers and optics. You will receive requested experiments from the Xcimer science team and you will use your technical and operational expertise in laser and optical systems to develop the beamline operations schedule for experiments, maintenance, and system upgrades. You will lead engineers and technicians in completing this work – ensuring the laser and optical systems function when needed for tests. You will also lead post-experiment data reviews to confirm proper system function and determine if additional system work is needed ahead of the next experiments.
In addition to serving as Laser Beamline Lead, you will learn from our subject matter experts and be one of the first to formally qualify for a role on the shot operations team. Once qualified, you will serve on the shot operations team for some of the Phoenix experiments – leading system controllers and operators to execute critical procedures in our laser experiment operations. We are looking for our Laser Beamline Lead to apply their technical expertise, problem solving skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact the future of energy!
