Royal Electric Company is hiring for a Fabrication Manager for our Sacramento, CA office.

Success in the position is achieved through the following duties & responsibilities:

Lead and manage a culture of safety and efficiency in our Fabrication Department

  • Lead and manage a culture of safety and efficiency in our Fabrication Department.
  • Work safely, promote safety, and actively support a safe work environment and culture.
  • Ensure the proper tools and equipment are being used for the task being performed.
  • At all times, the use of appropriate PPE for the task being performed.
  • Clearly understand and implement Royal’s safety policies and procedures.

 

Build the people within the Fabrication team to facilitate their growth and their capabilities

  • Openly and actively communicate, coach and develop the Fabrication team for successful accomplishment of department Key Results and individuals’ growth within the company.
  • Advise and facilitate the implementation of best practices to increase Royals efficiency, safety practices, and new innovations.
  • Ensure the resources are available to promote and grow individuals within the fabrication team.

 

Build relationships with all Royal Departments, field teams, vendors, and clients that help us support and ensure successful projects

  • Utilize and support all Royal Departments to develop relationships that allow for information sharing, problem solving, and collaboration in project execution.
  • Using Royals unique manufacturing capabilities, create solutions to our clients unique problems.
  • Provide feedback and collaborate with Field Teams to help projects regarding production rates, means, and methods.
  • Follow and actively support the Proven Process to ensure a unified project approach.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with other Royal departments including but not limited to procurement, field staff, VC, engineering, and support ops.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with other vendors that the manufacturing department interacts with.

Utilize all available resources for Fabrication Order Fulfillment which ensures accurate and timely delivery

  • Allocate the Fabrication teams recourses properly in order to ensure the needs of the project teams are satisfied.
  • Properly allocate manpower based on skill, education, and project needs to optimize staffing efficiency.
  • Receive, plan, implement, track, and ensure delivery of all fabrication orders to Royal standards and on the appropriate timeline.
  • Ensure Fabrication Team collaborates with other internal departments for resource needs for project (manpower, equipment, prefab, VC).

Lean Manufacturing Techniques understood and practiced

  • Promote and ensurework areas demonstrate efficient work practices.
  •  Utilize Lean methodology in all practices.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Construction, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Fabrication or Manufacturing.
  • Proven work experience as a Fabrication Shop Manager, or similar role is preferred.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Strong understanding of safety policies and procedures, and the ability to promote a safe work environment.
  • Skilled in the proper use of tools and equipment for fabrication tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for developing team members.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal departments, field teams, vendors, and clients.
  • Knowledge and practice of Lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in order fulfillment and project execution.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to meet project goals.

Safety & Physical Requirements

  • Must wear proper PPE while on jobsites.
  • Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Sit, stand, and walk during the duration of the workday.
  • Will lift, carry, push, pull, kneel, crouch, and reach.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Salary Range:

  • $40.00/Hr - $75.00/Hr
    • This is an non-exempt role.
