The Opportunity: A Role Where You Can Make Your Mark
As an Embedded Systems Engineer at Acusensus, you’ll have the freedom and empowerment to improve both the systems you work on and the workflows and procedures we use. This Las Vegas-based role gives you a unique opportunity to make an impact across national and global projects, with hands-on collaboration and implementation. You’ll be a key contributor in exceeding customer expectations and pioneering our expansion into new markets worldwide.
What You'll Do
You'll be a vital part of our R&D team, working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the global business. Your day-to-day activities will involve:
- System Ownership & Hardware Integration: Install, update, and troubleshoot Acusensus software and hardware across a range of devices, including cameras, sensors, and embedded electronics.
- System Monitoring: Monitor operational health of systems during installations, updates, and high-profile events.
- Automation & Efficiency: Contribute to scripting and procedural workflow improvements to make our systems more scalable and efficient.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and electronics issues, identifying root causes and workarounds.
- Client Engagement: Support pre-sales and client communications on technical aspects of our products.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear technical documentation, including release notes, risk assessments, and training materials.
- Collaboration & Impact: Work closely with teams across the US, UK, and Australia to deliver solutions that make a real societal difference.
What We're Looking For
You're a self-starter with at least two years of experience in an Embedded Systems Engineering or a similar role. You have a knack for problem-solving and are comfortable learning and operating independently in a supportive environment.
- Experience with integrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting software on Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with hardware and electronics, including sensors, cameras, or embedded devices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Bonus points if you have experience with any of the following:
- Version management (Git)
- Sensors (cameras, radar)
- AWS
- Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Puppet)
- Scripting (Bash, Python)
- Image processing, machine learning, or machine vision
