We enable your best to power our future.

Job Description

Nielsen is looking for a strategic, high-energy Director of Physical Security to lead our global security operations. This is a dynamic position that balances the safety of our people with the agility needed to manage a shifting corporate real estate footprint. You will be the architect of our physical safety standards across international borders, ensuring that whether we are opening a flagship office or decommissioning a legacy site, our assets and personnel remain protected.

The Impact You’ll Make:

As the Director, you will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and tactical execution. You’ll lead a lean team of internal experts while managing a large-scale contractor workforce, all while acting as the primary security lead for Nielsen’s global facility lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement global physical security policies, standards, and procedures to mitigate risks across all Nielsen offices.

  • Team Management: Directly lead and mentor a team of three Full-Time Employees (FTEs) and oversee the performance of 50+ contract security guards globally.

  • Real Estate Agility: Lead the security "stand-up" for new office openings and the "close-down" procedures for site exits. This includes:

    • Conducting site risk assessments.

    • Overseeing the installation of access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.

    • Managing the secure disposal of sensitive assets during office closures.

  • Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with global security service providers, ensuring high service levels and cost-effectiveness.

  • Crisis Management: Serve as a key member of the Global Emergency Response Team, providing guidance during geopolitical instability, natural disasters, or security breaches.

  • Budget Oversight: Manage a multi-million dollar security budget, prioritizing spend based on data-driven risk profiles.

The Ideal Candidate :

You are a "builder" who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You understand that security should enable the business, not hinder it. You have the executive presence to brief the C-suite on global threats and the "boots-on-the-ground" mindset to ensure a security guard in a remote office is properly trained.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in physical security, corporate real estate, or law enforcement/military leadership.
  • Proven track record of managing both direct reports and large-scale third-party guard forces.
  • Experience managing security across different regions (EMEA, APAC, LATAM, NA) and understanding local compliance.
  • Familiarity with modern security tech stacks (Lenel, S2, Avigilon, etc.) and integrated security systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple office "stand-ups" and "shuts" simultaneously without missing a beat.
