Job Description

The Senior Controller (Chief Accountant) leads all aspects of local controlling and accounting in the local market - France. They coordinate activities between Operational Controlling, Revenue Controlling and Business Finance. They perform local accounting activities specific to the respective market. They maintain and monitor the local core finance processes.

This is a permanent role based in France. Employees have the option to work remotely or from the office in Bezons. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage local accounting and controllership function

• Manage the statutory and tax compliance requirement (Local GAAP statutory financial statements and tax calculations)

• Maintain local statutory accounts and ensure ongoing compliance to local regulation for the local legal entities

• Act as a single point of contact for internal auditors and / or tax and legal authorities or advisors

• Ensure compliance with all relevant global, regional or local policies, procedures and guidelines

• Ensure adequate performance and reporting on the following:

• US-GAAP accounting / closing, accruals, and BS account reconciliations

• Financial closing (Monthly, Q, and YE reporting)

• Tax Reporting (US-GAAP) and local CIT submission

• Monthly VAT preparation per local requirements

• Intrastat declaration (DES)

• Fees annual declaration (DAS 2)

• Statutory Financial Statements preparation

• Procure-to-pay functions (approving payments, point of contact for AP escalations, etc)

• Intercompany transactions and reconciliation

• Maintain internal controls and ensure an effective control environment through active coordination with the Group Controller and the International Core teams

• Responsible for the maintenance of  local statutory accounts and ensure ongoing compliance to local regulation for the local legal entity

Qualifications

By your proactiveness and commitment, you can achieve balanced coordination of all core and continuous finance activities between the local environment and the International  finance organization.  You’re curious, open for learning and dedicated to work: for sure you will meet controllership metrics and ensure solid controls are in place and functioning.

 QUALIFICATIONS 

• Extensive relevant professional experience in accounting

• Degree in Finance or Accounting

• Fluency in English and French language mandatory

• Knowledge and experience with French statutory requirements mandatory (VAT, SFS, CIT)

• SAP user and experience in international company is an advantage

• Experience with double chart of account and US GAAP is advantage

• Local or international Accounting qualification is advantage

• IT-PC literate (Google for Work, Microsoft Office)

• Strong communication skills, team player, attention to details
