Description
The Account Manager plays a key role within Westfalia Fruit's Commercial team, building and strengthening relationships with customers in the fresh produce sector. This position is responsible for driving sales growth, managing accounts, and ensuring the highest standards of customer service.
Responsibilities
Sales & Account Management:
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with both existing and potential customers.
- Conduct regular customer follow-ups and engagement to understand customer requirements, preferences, and strategic goals.
- Actively research and analyse customer needs, industry trends, and competitive offerings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, offering prompt solutions and addressing concerns.
- Strive to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty through excellent service and proactive issue resolution.
- Provide customers with ad and merchandising plans to support customers avocado objectives and growth
- Regularly communicate with customers on market dynamics and trends to keep them up to date
Order Processing:
- Monitor and verify the end to end order process of the customer purchase orders.
- Regularly communicate with customers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and any adjustments.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality Assurance departments to ensure order specifications are met, including special packaging requirements and quality standards.
- Ensure that necessary customer specs such as packaging and labelling are in place and provided to the right teams to meet customer preferences and compliance standards.
- Regularly review order details for accuracy and maintain up-to-date information in internal systems.
- Keep up with customer CRM entries and profiles.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure high level of customer service and issue resolution.
- Maintain regular communication with various departments across the business.
- Work with the broader Commercial team to develop and implement initiatives that enhance the overall customer experience.
- Regularly share customer feedback with relevant departments to drive process improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Sales, Account Management, or Sales Support roles.
- Strong understanding and experience in the fresh produce industry.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective client relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including occasional Saturdays.
