Description
Rasor Law Firm – Seeking a Litigation Paralegal Who Helps Build Winning Trial Cases From the Ground Up
Rasor Law Firm, located in downtown Royal Oak, is a respected Michigan litigation boutique known for taking serious cases through verdict — and winning.
We are seeking an experienced litigation paralegal who finds satisfaction not in the spotlight, but in the work that wins trials: pre-suit case development, discovery execution, evidence organization, and meticulous trial preparation.
This is a rare long-term opportunity for a paralegal who enjoys being a key force behind strong courtroom outcomes — helping prepare the record, support the legal strategy, and ensure every case is positioned for maximum impact when trial arrives.
The Role: High-Level Litigation Support & Trial Preparation
This position is ideal for a seasoned paralegal who thrives in the details and understands that great trial results are built long before opening statements.
You will play a central role in preparing complex cases from inception through trial, working closely with senior trial counsel in a collaborative, strategy-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting pre-suit case development, including gathering, analyzing, and organizing critical evidence such as medical records, insurance materials, employment files, and other documentation.
- Assisting with pre-suit negotiations and resolution efforts with insurance companies prior to litigation.
- Managing discovery workflows, including drafting support, organizing document productions, tracking responses, and maintaining case files.
- Coordinating expert and lay witnesses, ensuring testimony materials, scheduling, and supporting documentation are trial-ready.
- Assisting lead counsel in deposition preparation, including organizing exhibits, deposition summaries, and follow-up discovery based on testimony.
- Supporting litigation writing projects, including motion preparation, facilitation summaries, and appellate-related filings as needed.
- Building complete pre-trial and trial materials — exhibit lists, witness lists, motions in limine support, trial binders, and demonstratives.
- Providing in-court trial support through exhibit handling, logistics coordination, and real-time case management for the trial team.
- Contributing to the firm’s active appellate practice through organization of post-trial materials and appeal-related support.
- Collaborating directly with senior attorneys to help develop and execute case strategy from the ground up.
Why Rasor Law?
- We are a true trial firm — we prepare every case with the expectation that it will be tried.
- This is a role for professionals who value precision, preparation, and strategic execution.
- Our firm is established, influential, and driven by results and integrity.
- Our appellate practice is thriving, offering exposure to high-level advocacy work.
- You will work alongside some of Michigan’s sharpest litigators and become an essential part of the trial team.
Don’t Miss This Opportunity
If you’re simply looking for another paralegal job, there are many out there.
But if you’re looking for a long-term career opportunity where your discovery skill, organization, preparation, and behind-the-scenes trial work directly shape courtroom wins — this is the role.
Requirements
- An experienced litigation paralegal with a deep commitment to excellence in case development, discovery execution, and meticulous trial preparation.
- You bring 10+ years of experience supporting complex litigation matters and understand that successful trial outcomes are built through disciplined preparation long before the courtroom.
- You hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field, and take pride in providing high-level litigation support in a demanding environment.
- You have a strong working knowledge of Michigan litigation procedures, court rules, deadlines, and filing requirements, and are comfortable managing cases through every stage of litigation.
- Highly organized and detail-driven, with the ability to manage multiple moving pieces, competing priorities, and fast-paced litigation demands under pressure.
- Skilled in managing subpoena requests and record retrieval, including medical providers, employers, insurers, and other third-party sources critical to case development.
- Experienced in reviewing, summarizing, and organizing large volumes of documentation, including preparing medical chronologies, record indexes, and key issue timelines.
- Comfortable working behind the scenes to drive discovery, coordinate evidence, and ensure every case is positioned for maximum strength long before trial begins.
- Proficient with legal research tools and modern litigation technology, including Clio, Microsoft Office, Westlaw (preferred), and AI-assisted legal tools to streamline case preparation.
- A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, able to work effectively with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, experts, court personnel, and vendors.
- Strategic, proactive, and dependable — someone who anticipates what the trial team will need next and takes initiative without constant supervision.
- Experienced in deposition and witness preparation support, including organizing exhibits, preparing deposition binders, tracking testimony, and assisting with follow-up discovery.
- Comfortable coordinating expert witnesses, including scheduling, document exchange, and ensuring reports and supporting materials are complete and trial-ready.
- Highly competent in preparing pre-trial and trial materials, including exhibit lists, witness lists, trial binders, demonstratives, and courtroom logistics.
- Motivated by responsibility, mentorship, and the opportunity to become an indispensable part of a respected trial and appellate practice.
- Experience in areas such as automobile negligence and PIP, employment discrimination, personal injury, medical malpractice, and/or premises liability.
