About Aethos Ericeira:

AETHOS Ericeira opened its doors in September 2022, just above Praia da Calada, 10 minutes drive from Ericeira. With 50 rooms, three F&B outlets, including a restaurant with a bar open to the public, a heated saltwater pool, a gym and a spa area, it's the perfect haven for surf-inspired travellers. We also have a multipurpose room which is available for events, leisure and wellness activities.

As the welcoming face of our restaurant ONDA, you’ll greet guests with warmth and professionalism, manage reservations, and ensure smooth seating arrangements. Your role is essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere and contributing to the exceptional service that makes Aethos unique.

Role and Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Engagement & Service:
  • Welcome guests with genuine warmth and professionalism, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
  • Manage reservations and seating, providing accurate wait times and ensuring guests feel valued from arrival to departure.
  • Handle special requests and concerns efficiently to ensure a seamless guest experience.

  • Seating & Organization:
  • Optimize the seating chart to ensure tables are filled in an organized manner and service flows smoothly.
  • Coordinate with waitstaff and management to prepare the dining area, including menu setup and maintaining overall cleanliness.

  • Guest Communication & Experience:
  • Act as the primary contact for inquiries, offering recommendations and proactively anticipating guest needs (e.g., assistance with coats).
  • Foster an atmosphere of hospitality, ensuring every guest feels comfortable and well-attended to.

  • Health, Safety & Compliance:
  • Maintain hygiene standards and adhere to all health and safety protocols for both guests and staff.
  • Monitor front-of-house organization to ensure a safe and positive environment.

  • Teamwork & Communication:
  • Collaborate with the broader team (servers, bartenders, and kitchen) to maintain a calm and efficient environment during busy periods.
  • Participate in briefings to stay updated on guest preferences, special events, and procedural changes.
  • Requirements & Profile

  • Language Skills: Fluency in both Portuguese and English is essential.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year in hospitality is highly valued, though a natural passion for hosting is equally important.
  • Hospitality Mindset: A warm, approachable, and "guest-first" attitude with genuine enthusiasm for the industry.
  • Professional Demeanor: Ability to maintain a friendly yet professional presence at all times.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong ability to handle feedback constructively and resolve issues with care.
  • Flexibility & Reliability: Willingness to work rotating shifts (evenings, weekends, and holidays) and maintain consistent punctuality.
  • Team Contribution: A proactive approach to improving service and contributing to a solution-oriented work culture.
  • Compliance: Commitment to adhering to all hotel standards and operational procedures.
