Job Title: First-Mile (Pick Up) Operations Supervisor / Manager

  • SwiftX Express is seeking a First-Mile Operations Supervisor / Manager to join our Operations Control Center. This role is responsible for strategic planning, centralized management, and continuous improvement of all U.S. first-mile pickup operations, including DSP performance, routing strategy, capacity planning, and cost optimization.
  • This is a high-impact role for someone who understands first-mile logistics at scale and can combine hands-on operational control with data-driven strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • First-Mile Strategy & Planning
    • Lead nationwide first-mile pickup strategy across the U.S., including network design, capacity planning, and peak-season readiness;
    • Develop and continuously optimize pickup models, routing strategies, and operational standards to improve efficiency, service quality, and cost control;
    • Analyze pickup data and performance trends to identify bottlenecks and drive scalable improvements.
  • Operations Control & Execution
    • Oversee DSP-operated fleet and driver resources across U.S. regions through centralized control and monitoring;
    • Manage and guide regional pickup operations teams, ensuring daily execution aligns with national strategy;
    • Monitor real-time pickup performance and respond to operational exceptions, escalations, and service disruptions;
    • Take ownership of first-mile pickup service quality, SLA performance, and cost metrics.
  • DSP & Vendor Management
    • Manage and evaluate Delivery Service Providers (DSPs), including performance reviews, compliance monitoring, and cost management;
    • Establish and track DSP KPIs covering service quality, on-time performance, utilization, safety, and cost;
    • Coordinate with DSPs and internal stakeholders to resolve performance gaps and implement corrective action plans;
    • Support DSP onboarding, scaling, and network expansion initiatives.
  • Process & System Optimization
    • Lead first-mile process standardization and SOP development across the U.S. network;
    • Partner with product, tech, and operations teams to improve or build first-mile systems, dashboards, and control-tower tools;
    • Drive automation, visibility, and data accuracy improvements for pickup operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Serve as a key point of contact between the Operations Control Center and regional ops, customer service, sales, and technology teams;
    • Align first-mile strategy with downstream linehaul and last-mile operations to ensure end-to-end network efficiency;
    • Support leadership with reporting, insights, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in first-mile pickup, transportation, logistics operations, or fleet management (experience at scale strongly preferred);
  • Proven experience managing or working with DSPs, third-party carriers, or contractor-based fleets;
  • Strong understanding of first-mile logistics workflows, routing, capacity planning, and cost drivers;
  • Experience with KPI management, performance dashboards, and data-driven decision-making;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams and regions;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume operations environment;
  • Proficiency in English; Chinese bilingual ability is a strong plus;
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
