Description:
The A’s are hiring for a Player Development Intern to assist the Baseball Operations group and Minor League Support Staff for the 2026 season. This position crosses into the intersection of several fields (Baseball Operations, Player Development, Video, Research & Analytics). The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for baseball and seamlessly integrate into the player development work process, aiding the coaching and analytics support staff in data-driven tasks for the 2026 season. Candidates must be able to relocate to Mesa, Arizona.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis through public and proprietary data sources to provide strategic insights in support of players and staff
- Assist in pre-series preparation and assignments for player development staff
- Perform ad-hoc queries for player development and front office staff as needed
- Operate game tracking technology
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Has or is pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrated quantitative background, either by degree or work sample (SQL, R, Python, Tableau, or other programming language)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or Google G Suite
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Playing background at the collegiate level (not limited to baseball or softball) or above a definite plus
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Some travel required
