Asian Pacific Fund is seeking a full-time Community Initiatives & Grantmaking Manager to implement our capacity building and systems change initiatives, lead our scholarship programs and manage our grants logistics and administration. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented professional, passionate about ensuring that all AANHPIs in the Bay thrive. They will be able to take initiative; solve problems effectively and excel at building systems and manage community-facing projects. 

Who We Are

Founded in 1993, the Asian Pacific Fund (APF) is the only community foundation dedicated to improving the lives of underserved and marginalized Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPIs) in the Bay Area. We do this by:

• Strengthening our Safety Net: We fund and support an ecosystem of more than 90 Bay Area nonprofits serving AANHPI seniors, youth, and families; 40% of which have budgets of less than $1 million.
• Mobilizing Philanthropy: We connect philanthropy to AANHPI-serving nonprofits, mobilizing funding, regionally and nationally, to increase our collective impact.
• Driving Change: We are informed by the voices in our community and lead by speaking out, convening thought leaders, and amplifying solutions that work.
• Our Affiliate Network: APF has deep roots in the AANHPI community through a vast network of affiliates that operate at multiple levels. The Community Initiatives & Grantmaking Manager supports the implementation and administration of our programs and grants in alignment with our impact strategy. Reporting to the Community Initiatives & Grantmaking Director, the CIG Manager works cross-functionally with our Development, Finance and Communications teams to ensure seamless execution of our community-facing work including:

• Leading implementation of scholarship program—current activities include four major scholarships, one award, two annual luncheons, and one annual summer retreat.
• Processing administrative documents for grantmaking, scholarship disbursements, and vendor payments.
• Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders—affiliates, scholarship donors, scholars, community, partners, and the APF staff.
• Supporting the implementation of capacity building and strategic initiatives, including events management and logistics coordination for quarterly Affiliate convenings.

This is a hybrid position based in the Bay Area. This position requires occasional travel within California for meetings, team retreats and organizational events. Candidates must be able to work weekday hours, and should have previously demonstrated experience and comfort with remote work. We are open to individual candidates who have at least 3+ years of program management or grantmaking experience.

Requirements

To be successful in this job, you must have:    

• 3+ years of social justice philanthropy, project management, or nonprofit experience

Knowledge of our programs or prior experience in grantmaking is preferred but not required.

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000 per year depending on experience. We also offer flexible work hours, a collaborative work environment, and a benefits package that includes generous vacation, employer-paid medical and dental insurance, and the option of participating in a 403(b) retirement savings plan.
