Requirements of the Preconstruction Manager & Estimator:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in construction management preconstruction and estimating
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost control
- Ability to interface with clients and develop preconstruction estimates with limited information.
- Proficiency in estimating software and project management tools
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to commute to Portland, ME and travel to job sites Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities of the Preconstruction Manager & Estimator:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals for construction projects
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids
- Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options
- Prepare cost reports and forecasts for management and clients
- Assist in contract negotiations and administration
- Participate in project meetings and presentations
