David creates tools to increase muscle and decrease fat. Their first product is a protein bar. More broadly, David is a platform to develop high-protein, low-calorie, blood-sugar-friendly foods that are craveable.
This is a rare opportunity to join a breakout food brand at a pivotal stage of growth. Led by CEO Peter Rahal, Cofounder and Former CEO of RXBAR, David is working to become the leading consumer food brand focused on high-protein foods in North America and beyond.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will sit within the Finance team and play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting as the company scales. This role has broad exposure across the general ledger, close, reporting, and audit support. You’ll work closely with the Controller to build scalable processes, strengthen documentation and internal controls, and improve the quality and timeliness of financial reporting as we grow.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning core accounting areas, improving close and reporting rigor, and operating cross-functionally in a fast-paced CPG environment.
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Support and execute the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and variance analyses.
- Own key balance sheet and P&L account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Prepare components of consolidated financial statements and internal management reporting packages.
- Partner with the Controller to continuously improve close timelines, documentation, and reporting quality.
- Assist with month-over-month flux analysis and communicate drivers of financial performance.
General Ledger & Technical Accounting
- Maintain the general ledger in NetSuite, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and classified in accordance with US GAAP.
- Support accounting for operating expenses, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and other core accounting areas.
- Assist with technical accounting research and implementation as needed (e.g., new transactions, evolving business needs, system changes).
Internal Controls, Audit, & Compliance
- Play a key role in the company’s first-year audit, supporting opening balance sheet validation, rollforward schedules, and auditor requests for core balance sheet and P&L areas.
- Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external audits and tax filings.
- Help ensure the company is building toward SOX-ready processes and documentation as it scales.
- Identify and help remediate control gaps, process inefficiencies, and documentation weaknesses.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Strategic Support
- Partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Collaborate with teams across Supply Chain, Marketing, Retail, and People to ensure financial activity is accurately reflected in the books.
- Assist with ad hoc analyses and special projects that support strategic decision-making and company growth.
Requirements
- Strong technical foundation in US GAAP and financial reporting.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, with experience in a high-growth, consumer, or CPG environment preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communicator able to collaborate cross-functionally and explain accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.

Benefits
- This is a full-time role.
- Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, inclusive of cash bonus based on attainment of company targets
