The role

The Economist Group is looking for a Sales Operation Analyst to work as part of a new centralised Sales Operations team and support Sales Operational Reporting needs for the Group. This role would suit a proactive, detail oriented individual who is used to operating in a fast paced environment; preferably with experience of supporting sales teams as they transition to new processes, tools and ways of working and working alongside programme teams. 

 This is a new role at The Economist Group, based in India, but supporting teams worldwide. The successful candidate will be working closely with sales operations colleagues to embed automated reporting and process for the Global Sales Teams, be a guardian to our data architecture for sales, and working closely with the central team for support. You will be working as part of the sales operations team, and with sales leadership to ensure that any changes that are requested or undertaken within Tableau will drive a more consistent and aligned approach across TEG, and spot opportunities to improve our data management and delivery. You will also partner closely with Sales Enablement to highlight themes and questions that may come from an activity or reporting need.

This is a pivotal role as we move towards an automated and data led approach for the central and Sales Teams. In this role you will bring your drive for analysis and reporting to leverage experience to support business insights

 Responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading on our Data visualisation deliverables by demonstrating proficiency in mastering Enterprise Business Intelligence tools, preferably Tableau (in alternative QlikView, MicroStrategy, Cognos, or major BI tools); they need to become the Tableau guru and main go-to-person within the central team..
  2. Knowledge of SQL, including the ability to write stored procedures, triggers, analytic/windowing functions, as knowledge of relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  3. As a subject matter expert, they will be asked to create Business Intelligence dashboards and implement the required supporting architecture. They will be responsible for delivering a variety of requests, reporting and analysis delivered through data visualization. This will be primarily focused around the strategic areas of marketing and sales performance, sales pipeline and forecast, digital business, and customer journey monitoring.
  4. They  will also ensure that newly delivered reports conform to business standards for formatting and distribution/security, as well as validating developed reports prior to UAT to ensure that they meet the initial specification and have data integrity.
  5. Provide thought leadership, best practices, and standards required to deliver effective solutions to the stakeholders in the central and regional teams.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate and have: 
  • Dynamic, flexible and with a high-energy level as this is a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or foreign degree equivalent.
  • Two plus years of experience with data visualization implementing high value-add solutions and performing administrative activities across a multi-environment infrastructure.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Consistent collaboration with business users and analyze user requirements.
  • Excellent English communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently, and overseas from core team as well as in a team environment.
  • Exceptional technical troubleshooting skills
  • Strong knowledge of Tableau or other major Business Intelligence tool
  • Development experience working with SQL and databases
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and the G-suite of tools
  • Knowledge and experience with Sales tech stack tools like HighSpot, Salesloft and the like a bonus, CRM and marketing automation platforms expected.
