Purpose of the Role
Man Group’s US Residential Debt team is seeking an experienced Analyst to join our Resi Debt asset management team in New York. The experienced Analyst will report to the Head of Asset Management and support both the Asset Management and Investment teams across our residential mortgage strategies. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day management of residential whole loans, construction loans, credit facilities, and other residential debt investments.
Specific Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations activities of residential mortgage loans, including construction draws and servicer onboarding
- Administer credit facilities, including borrowing base calculations and tie-outs, funding requests, servicer reconciliation, and monitoring financial covenants
- Proactively calculate and monitor portfolio performance metrics to identify and mitigate credit deterioration
- Support loss mitigation efforts including borrower outreach, forbearance plan structuring, foreclosure coordination, and REO disposition, while managing strict timelines
- Prepare regular portfolio performance reports and analytics for senior investment professionals and management
- Coordinate with multiple internal teams including Legal, Finance, Risk, Operations, and Technology
- Proactively manage and track the transfer of collateral documents to multiple custodians, and work closely with counterparties to cure exceptions and collect trailing documents
Key Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, math, physics, or a related field
- 1-3+ years of experience in private real estate lending (preferably residential), with a focus on asset management, loan servicing, special servicing, underwriting, credit analysis, or similar functions
- Hands-on experience with RTL, DSCR, bridge, or construction lending strongly preferred
- Prior experience with warehouse lending and credit facilities operations is a significant plus
- Exposure to residential construction budgets, cost review and timeline feasibility
- Familiarity with real estate markets, valuation methodologies, and investor exit strategies
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and pipeline management tools
- Strong real estate underwriting judgment
- Detailed-oriented and organized, with a proven ability to work independently on multiple projects
- Team-oriented and collaborative, with strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work across multiple teams and functions in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights
- Flexible and adaptable in a rapidly growing platform
- Creative problem solver that can effectively summarize and communicate issues to team members and management
The anticipated based salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation packages would also include benefits and a discretionary bonus. This is the base salary range that the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting based on the location and requirements of the position as well as the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant. The Firm reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
US Pay Range
$115,000 - $130,000 USD
