We’re seeking a motivated Intern to join ourLaunch & Orbit Support team, where you’ll have the chance to contribute meaningful work from day one. You’ll support satellite launches, early mission operations, and orbit determination for thousands of tracked objects across our global radar network. Working alongside astrodynamicists, scientists, and engineers, you’ll gain hands-on experience with real mission operations, help improve our data products, and develop skills essential to the rapidly growing commercial space industry.
What You’ll Do
·Support LeoLabs’Launch and Early Operations (LEOP)products and key data products during orbital launches
·Automate, optimize, and improve tools used for LEOP and orbit determination
·Collaborate with engineers and scientists to solve complex technical challenges
·Use LeoLabs’ extensive LEO object data set to prototype analytical and system improvements
·Transition your solutions from prototype to production as part of our release cycle
·Work independently and on cross-functional teams
·Communicate findings clearly through written explanations, visualizations, and weekly team updates
Basic Qualifications
·Currently pursuing abachelor’s or graduate degreein a STEM field
·Coursework or experience inphysical sciences, data analytics, or related areas
·Familiarity withorbit mechanics/astrodynamics
·Experience working in large codebases and scripting inPython, MATLAB, Julia, or similar tools
·Ability to self-direct and collaborate effectively
Preferred Qualifications
·Familiarity withSQL, Git, Docker, and theUnix command line
·Passion for solving complex scientific or engineering problems
·Prior STEM research experience
·GPA3.5+in relevant coursework
·Letter of recommendation from a professor or mentor
·Working knowledge ofstatistical modeling
