Key Responsibilities | Team Leadership & Development:
- Provide direct leadership, mentorship, and work allocation for Project Managers, GIS Specialists and Foresters.
- Implement and champion clear team rhythms (e.g., daily stand-ups, weekly planning) to create predictability, improve communication, and ensure priority alignment.
- Conduct regular, effective 1:1s focused on project support and professional development.
- Model and foster a culture of direct, respectful communication and collaborative problem-solving.
- Coach team members on contractor management.
Key Responsibilities | Carbon Project Execution & Delivery:
- Own the end-to-end operational execution of carbon projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, to spec, within scope, and on budget.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for resolving day-to-day project blockers, leveraging deep operational knowledge to quickly find solutions.
- Maintain a real-time, high-level dashboard of all active projects, providing clear visibility on status, risks, and resource allocation for the leadership team.
- Ensure all field operations and registry documentation meet rigorous quality standards for carbon buyers and state and federal agencies.
- Act as the key operational liaison with the Product team to ensure project execution aligns with buyer expectations and product design, and that product roadmaps are informed by on-the-ground operational knowledge and constraints.
Key Responsibilities | Process, System and Scalability:
- Leverage your expertise to document, standardize, and optimize field and project management processes across all CarbonX functions.
- Work closely with the Product team and Finance team to manage project budgets and forecasts with a high degree of accuracy.
- Champion the effective use of key systems (e.g., Hubspot, Asana) to create clarity and efficiency for the entire team.
Key Responsibilities | Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner closely with the Advisor, Carbon Program to align operational execution with strategic goals and incorporate technical oversight.
- Act as a key liaison with the Origination, Product, and Finance teams to ensure smooth project planning/delivery and accurate financial planning.
- Develop the skills to represent the CarbonX team’s operational status in leadership meetings with clarity and confidence.
- Over time, this role is expected to absorb the strategic and regulatory responsibilities currently held by the Advisor, Carbon Program, becoming the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and technical standards.
- Utilize existing playbooks and the support from other functions to participate in community informational events about projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience managing simultaneous, large-scale, heavy equipment construction or field operations projects, with a proven track record in forestry, biomass, or related sectors.
- Deep, proven expertise in managing large-scale field operations (e.g., forestry, biomass, environmental construction), with a track record of applying complex environmental or carbon methodology requirements to ensure project compliance, quality, and successful delivery.
- Executive presence and confidence in communicating operational strategies to senior leadership and external registry partners.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and standards organizations.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to influence and shape carbon project methodologies and standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience designing and implementing team-wide systems and processes from the ground up.
- Exceptional operational and organizational skills; mastery of complex logistics, budget management, and process documentation.
- Proven ability to build strong, trusting relationships with external partners (e.g., landowners, contractors).
- Experience directly managing cross-functional teams
- Skills in coaching team members through complex interpersonal and professional challenges.
Logistical requirements:
