PURVIS Systems has an immediate opening for a full-time Systems Engineer to support a navy torpedo program.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include:
- Provide systems engineering support for the replacement and requalification of warhead electronics and fuzing.
- Design, fabricate, and evaluate prototype hardware upgrades for the torpedo.
- Generate design drawings and specifications for hardware upgrades.
- Conduct failure analysis and risk assessments by reviewing the Failure Analysis Report (FAR) database to evaluate the impact of component failures on system performance.
- Provide systems engineering support for the evaluation of torpedo guidance and control system upgrades.
- Conduct requirements analysis of system and subsystem performance specifications and provide recommended changes.
- Provide systems engineering support for the evaluation of torpedo operational software upgrades.
- Design upgrades to existing torpedo operational software and generate technical reports containing modernization recommendations.
- Define and develop necessary test equipment modifications by analyzing hardware changes against existing Test Equipment.
- Recommend updates to Test Equipment Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
- Conduct inspections and refurbish test equipment as needed to verify conformance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, etc.) preferred.
- 15+ years professional experience supporting with US Navy experience.
- Advanced experience and knowledge associated with engineering functions related to design, troubleshooting, analysis, reporting and/or testing of complex systems.
- Candidates must be able to work independently, collaboratively as part of a team, and interface regularly with a wide range of client personnel.
Position will require having or applying for a government security clearance to level of SECRET.
