Overview:

Family First in Education empowers children, adults, and families to realize their potential by closing the Achievement Gap, strengthening families, and building brighter futures for Greenwich youth through educational enrichment, parental support, and wraparound services.

 

The Role:  

The Program Support Specialist supports the coordination and delivery of Family First in Education programs while providing direct wraparound to children and families. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth program operations, effective family engagement, and strong community partnerships that help remove barriers to success for youth and families.

  • Maintain a caseload of approximately 30 families, providing individualized wraparound   support through bi-monthly visits (in-person or virtual).
  • Assess family strengths and needs, develop strength-based action plans, and provide short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and resource navigation.
  • Coordinate and support daily program operations, including after-school and family engagement initiatives.
  • Provide on-site support during after-school programming to ensure a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment.
  • Perform administrative and data management tasks, including record keeping, documentation, and re-enrollment forms. 

 

Requirements: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or related social science field is required 
  • Previous experience working with at- risk populations preferred  
  • CT state driver’s license and automatic liability insurance as required by hiring agency.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

Ability to work until 6pm with flexibility for weekends as needed for program events
