HR Apprentice

Key Activities:
• To support the induction process carrying out right to work checks
• Support the preparation of HR documentation such as letters, forms, and reports.
• Undertake note taking activities at disciplinary, grievance and consultation meetings
• To attend and observe HR Related meetings such as disciplinary, grievance, redundancy consultation etc.
• Manage and maintain employee records handling confidential documentation and files.
• Update databases concerning employee relations, long term sickness and capability cases
• Assist in the management and analysis of HR related data
• To provide management information as required enabling managers to make business decisions
• To assist in the collation of documentation in response to employment tribunal cases
• To raise purchase orders in line with company processes for the HR team
• To manage the HR email inbox, post, telephone calls and act as the first point of contact for the HR team
• To assist in the delivery of training / upskilling courses as required
• To undertake ad hoc project work

• Able to meet necessary deadlines & objectives
• Good I.T. skills and familiar with MS Office (familiarity with HR related systems desired but not essential)
Qualifications:
• English and Mathematics - GCSE C grade equivalent plus 2 further GCSE at this grade
• A Level qualification - desirable but not essential
Experience:
• An interest in pursuing a career as part of an HR team
• Excellent ICT skills - Microsoft Office (all packages) and Outlook
N.B. A basic knowledge of employment legislation and HR policies and procedures is highly desirable
