Together, we are responsible for the development, validation, and transfer of manufacturing processes and analytical methods to our colleagues in production , acting as a central service partner for protein-chemical and immunological analytics.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You will develop, optimize, and validate production-ready and reproducible processes for the manufacturing and analysis of immunological reagents (e.g., highly specialized antibody and antigen conjugates) and take responsibility for their transfer to production for highly regulated in-vitro diagnostics (IVDs).

  • You will use state-of-the-art chromatographic methods as well as established biochemical, physicochemical, and immunological analytics for the purification and characterization of biological raw materials, with a special focus on functional characterization in the Elecsys immunoassay.

  • You will assume technical responsibility for lab technicians , act as a subject matter expert and consultant for project partners , and actively contribute your experience to elevate the team's methodological know-how.

Other Responsibilities

  • Independent planning, evaluation, interpretation, and documentation of experiments according to QM specifications.

  • Purification of antibodies or antigens from various sources (e.g., eukaryotic cell culture supernatants, E. coli, native human materials).

  • Supervision of raw material development projects according to valid guidelines (incl. planning, coordination in the matrix, and cost control).

  • Providing expert advice to project partners, especially regarding reagent design and interference removal.

  • Studying and processing relevant scientific literature and patents.

This position requires the willingness to handle human materials.

Who you are

  • You possess in-depth specialized knowledge in protein chemistry and biochemistry, particularly in the purification, modification, and conjugation of proteins (chemical and/or site-directed conjugation methods).

  • You have sound experience in protein-analytical characterization (physicochemical, biochemical, immunological) and ideally, knowledge of immunoassays and diagnostic platforms.

  • You are characterized by teamwork, proactive communication , and a structured, independent approach to project management.

  • You are open to digitalization and communicate confidently in German and English (oral and written).
