WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Practice, support and promote the mission, vision, and values of Muckleshoot Casino Resort.
- Produce product daily while maintaining quality standards and strong work ethic.
- Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
- Ensure proper presentation to provide maximum appeal and freshness.
- Maintain production knowledge and attention to detail with taste and quality.
- Produce products in a cost effective and hygienic manner.
- Adhere to departmental uniform standards.
- Follow food storage principles and hierarchy per food code.
- Constantly strive to improve operating procedures.
- Properly label and date all products to ensure rotation, safekeeping, and sanitation.
- Ensure food quality is superior and takes action to correct any irregularities.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
- Work within the sanitation standards and in compliance of MIC, local, state, and federal regulations, and guidelines.
- Work with others to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
- Creates, maintains, and facilitates a positive and safe work environment; promotes positive team member relations and reports issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Ability to obtain a Class III B gaming license.
- 2 (two) years certificate from an accredited culinary program or minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar food service facility required.
- Valid WA State Health Card/Food Handler permit required.
HOW YOU’LL BE SUCCESSFUL
- Knowledge of all applicable food sanitation regulations.
- Knowledge of health & safety standards, and safety regulations as required.
- Skilled in handling kitchen utensils including but not limited to knives.
- Skilled in basic math skills; demonstrate ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions. Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Ability to follow procedures and take directions.
- Ability to always maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
