The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment within power plants and natural gas pipeline facilities. This role supports safe, efficient, and reliable operation by ensuring mechanical integrity, overseeing equipment installation, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on engineering projects.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems and components for various projects.
- Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting of mechanical systems to ensure reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and design reviews.
- Performs routine Engineering tasks to expand knowledge and experience.
- Provide straightforward solutions to problems.
- Assists in design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
- Follows prescribed procedures and conducts analyses to develop design options or recommendations.
- Assists more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods and reports.
- Work on a small portion of a larger project. Work is closely managed.
- Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
- Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
- Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
- Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
- Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Recent graduates or those anticipating graduation as late as summer 2025 are encouraged to apply.
- Self-directed with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated interest in the Oil and Gas industry through academic projects, extracurricular activities, or internships.
- Experience in the Oil and Gas sector or heavy industry, including co-op and internship experience, is advantageous but not required.
- Willingness to travel regularly to project sites, manufacturing facilities, company offices, and training locations.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum GPA of 3.25.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- A minimum of 0-3 years of experience in engineering or related field.
- Beginner proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
Competencies, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic Engineering principles
- Works under direct supervision but displays initiative and moves toward requiring less supervision.
- Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.
- Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
- Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
- Ability to organize and prioritize daily work.
- Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets; position will be filled depending on qualifications, experience and skill sets of the successful candidate. (as applicable to job)

Working Conditions:
