Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our in-house team in Salt Lake City. This role is responsible for preparing detailed design and layout drawings for fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish in collaboration with our project managers and field teams.
Responsibilities
• Design fire sprinkler systems in compliance with NFPA standards, building codes, and local requirements
• Prepare hydraulic calculations, material lists, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD or Revit
• Review project specifications, submittals, and design criteria with project managers and clients
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure design accuracy and constructability
• Support field installation teams by providing clarifications and design revisions as needed
• Maintain organized project files and documentation for submittals and approvals
• Participate in design review meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
• Minimum 3 years of experience in fire sprinkler design and NICET III.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or HydraCAD or similar design program
• Strong understanding of NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 25 standards
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or engineering degree preferred
