Position Title: Registered Veterinary Nurse

Salary range: £28,000 - £30,000
Contract Type: Full time, permanent
Hours: Full-time – 40 hrs , Occasional Saturday morning work will be required.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our team on a full-time basis. This role offers a great opportunity to work within a supportive and friendly practice where your skills will be valued and utilised fully.
You will be involved in all aspects of nursing care and work alongside our experienced team to deliver high standards of clinical and client service. You will be fully supported in all aspects of your role including nurse clinics.

Donnachie and Townley Veterinary Surgeons is a trusted and compassionate small animal veterinary practice committed to providing the highest standard of care to our patients and support to their owners. With a long-standing reputation in the community, we pride ourselves on our friendly, professional service and our dedication to animal welfare. We have two practices located in Rugeley and Stafford. At both sites we have a variety of facilities such as:
- Large spacious reception and separate cat and dog waiting areas.
- Small animal Pharmacy.
- Three Consultation Rooms.
- Prep/Scrub Room.
- Fully equipped Operating Theatre.
- Diagnostic Imaging Room with digital X-Ray machine and portable ultrasound scanner.
- Dental Suite equipped with specialised dental table, dental x-rays and ultrasonic dental scaler, polisher and drill.
- Large Kennel area for in-patients.
- Laboratory equipped with biochemistry and haematology analyser, microscope and centrifuge.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to inpatients and outpatients.
Assist with surgical procedures, anaesthesia, and recovery.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
Support with diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, and pharmacy duties.
Deliver excellent client communication and education.
Ensure the clinical environment is clean, organised, and compliant with practice policies.
Join our nurse clinic rota and be confident in providing services such as second vaccinations, nail clipping, microchipping, post and pre op checks amongst some other nurse consults.
There will also be the occasional reception cover needed, such as covering lunches.
Essential Requirements
Fully qualified and registered with the RCVS as a Veterinary Nurse.
Strong all-round clinical nursing skills.
A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
Professional, reliable, and committed to patient welfare.
Be computer literate and be able to use a variety of software.
Must be proactive and excellent time management (Essential)
