Student, Communications (Writer/Editor)
Number of Positions: 1
Term: January 5th, 2026 to April 24th, 2026
Schedule: 15 hours per week
Location: Ottawa, HQ (Hybrid)
Salary: $17.75 to $30.20/hourly rate dependent on level of education.
Language Requirement: English Essential

About the job:
The Writer and Editor student will support the Communications team by assisting in the support of internal client groups with their communications needs by assisting in developing appropriate communications strategies, plans and products to achieve client objectives.
Main duties:
· Assist the Communications team with writing, modifying and adjusting a range of material for internal clients, ensuring consistency with the organization’s core strategic messaging while adhering to deadlines (e.g. presentations, questions and answers, backgrounders, information cards, feature articles, profiles)
· Work with the Advisor, Communications on recommending and developping key messages for speeches and other communications products for internal clients, including CATSA executives
· Coordinate, plan content and write articles for CATSA publications;
· Coordinate the in-house translation of publications, as well as graphic design and printing with external suppliers;
· Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
To qualify for the position, you must have:
· Enrolled in a college diploma or a university degree program in Journalism or Communications.

· Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to analyze a variety of different materials in order to explain and position information for a wide range of audience needs;
· Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment;

To qualify and to be considered for this employment, you must:
· Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
· Be eligible to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance;
· Be a full-time or part-time CEGEP, College or University student; and
· Be returning to full-time or part-time studies in the next academic year.
