This position is core to the Latin-American Marketing Organization and will be responsible for developing and implementing key marketing strategies to drive desired business growth within our bank partners across the region, as well as support on development and execution of regional strategies and assets.
In this role the successful candidate will serve as point of contact with key bank partners across the LAC - Andean Region (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile). The candidate will support the Sr. Marketing Manager in leading and implementing key initiatives to drive partner and market share growth, launching new products and managing card portfolio.
Also, work closely with internal Business Development team and Staff groups and with bank partners teams to deliver outstanding card value proposition, marketing plans and investments, to deliver high spending customers onto the American Express network to drive local relevance and scale.
Main responsibilities:
Product Line Strategy: work with Sr. Marketing Manager to evaluate competitive products in the Andean region and monitor Amex value propositions by segment to ensure continuous product differentiation. Drive new product launches and coordinate gating process for new and revitalized products, including card set up, project implementation, ongoing control management, evaluation and evolution of existing and development of new channels.
Card Acquisition: work with Sr. Marketing Manager to maximize existing channels working close with Bank partners acquisition teams. This will cover all channels including Direct Mail, Direct Sales, Personal Sales, Telemarketing, Branch Sales and Digital.
Portfolio Management: support in customer engagement plans and in getting Bank Partner’s buy-in to grow usage and spend for the Amex portfolio including early engagement, anti-attrition, product upgrades, share of wallet practices. Implement the above in partnerships with Andean Banks and support tracking of these programs to drive investment optimization and prepare sound recommendations.
Merchant Marketing: work close to the Sr. Marketing Manager to develop turnkey solutions for acquirers and merchants. Develop Acceptance Campaigns to make the brand visible in the Andean region.
Finance and Risk: work with Finance and Risk teams to analyze channel profitability performance and incentive schemes.
Advertising and Promotion: responsible for reviewing and obtaining approval for all below-the-line Amex communications developed by partner banks, in accordance with Amex global advertising policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Good level of understanding of the card industry and the competitive environment.
- Strong strategic thought leadership skills with the ability to identify marketing opportunities.
- Strong client facing and relationship management skills to grow the partnership and deliver long term growth.
- Ability to project the Amex Blue Box values and represent American Express in a professional manner with external partners.
- Ability to influence behavior without direct authority to deliver long term results.
- Strong project management and execution skills to manage complex projects end to end.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Team player with a positive and winning attitude.
- Highly energetic / enthusiastic person with a track record that demonstrates ability to execute.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial services or payments experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field.
- Fluent – advanced in English and Spanish languages.
