The team you will be a part of

The EPI (Existing Product Improvement) Engineer will manage multiple project schedules to ensure timely execution and delivery of product design optimization opportunities. Maintain manufacturing productivity by resolving factory issues associated with product design in alignment with subsystem teams.

 

This role in summary

Identify and capture efficiency opportunities through product design improvements. Will scope ideas and bring them to execution using the WPD (Whirlpool Product Development) methodology for minor projects.



Your responsibilities will include

  • Support idea generation in workshops to develop cost pipeline

  • Work with SME (Subject Matter Experts) to scope ideas in order to understand project feasibility ( technical / financial)

  • Analyze SIR (Service Incident Rate) information to generate insights on field trends and open Quality projects

  • Analyze BOM (bill of material) information to generate cost ideas

  • Execute cost and quality projects following the WPD methodology

  • Write BOM change notices in Windchill

  • Create Engineering changes to literature

  • Create FMEA ( Failure Modes, and Effect Analysis)

  • Create test plans using DVP&R (Design Validation Plan & Report)

  • Create work plans (schedules) to complete projects and introduce changes into production

  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders as part of the project execution (suppliers, procurement, subsystems, manufacturing, marketing, quality)

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in the development or implementation of engineering solutions in areas including cost reduction, quality improvement, implementation of new projects or new technologies

  • 6 months of experience in project management

 

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Intermediate user of Google Suit (focus on Sheets/Excel, Docs, Slides, Drive)

  • Good analytical skills

  • SAP / Windchill experience as a plus

  • Proficient in English

  • Good project/task management skills

  • Proactive (Bias for Action), respect for commitments and deadlines (Accountability) 

  • Communication skills with peers: projects / initiatives / conclusions / report outs

  • Soft skills to work in a multicultural / multiregional team
