The Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology Department in the VTSU school of STEM invites applications for Fall 2025 (August 25-December 219, 2025) for a course to be taught at an industry partner facility in Rutland, Vermont.
The course to be taught is MEC 1020 - Manufacturing Processes I
This hands-on course with a strong focus on safety and skilled operation introduces the student to a wide variety of manufacturing processes. Although heavily focused on traditional machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.), it also explores the processes of casting, welding, molding, and industrial cutting (plasma, water-jet, laser). The student works in a small group to produce functional products using today’s manufacturing standards.
1 hour of lecture with 3 hours of lab per week
This course is offered through VTSU-Workforce, Community and Economic Development (WCED) at the Stafford Technical Center for GE in Rutland, Vermont.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a Maters degree or better in Engineering or equivalent experience in the field. Teaching experience at the college level is preferable.

Salary:
Based on credits previously taught per VSC-VSCPTF Bargaining Unit Agreement.
