The Optometric Officer Manager is expected to work with the Director of Optometry regarding the overall daily operations of a fast-paced optometry practice. The role involves overseeing clinical and administrative procedures, handling financial responsibilities, and ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive and organized professional with exceptional leadership and communication skills who can motivate a team and drive the practice’s success.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or higher or equivalent.
- 4 or more years of experience in Optometric practice.
- 4 or more years of experience with Optometric/Medical P.O. ‘s (Purchase Orders) and maintaining inventory, including Retail Eyeglass inventory.
- 4 or more years of experience in Optometric/Medical vendor billing and Optometric accounts receivable
- Intermediate proficiency in EPIC EMR software system.
- Willing and able to stand and walk for an extended period
- Willing and able to lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Must have strong manual dexterity to handle small tools and instruments
General Qualifications
- Must be CPR (BLS) certified within 90 days.
- Must be HIPAA and Privacy Act trained within 90 days.
- Must maintain confidentiality at all times
- Requires a high level of personal integrity, confidentiality and ethics.
- Requires a high level of problem-solving skills.
- Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions (if approved by the Director of Optometry and CMO)
- Intermediate knowledge of billing process
- Intermediate proficiency with practice management software and electronic health records (EHR)
- Proven management or supervisory experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Experience in sales, marketing, and achieving business growth.
- Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation is of the highest importance.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles.
