Job Description:Dental Patient Navigator - Servicing Local Schools
The Dental Patient Navigator works in geographically distributed, telehealth-connected teams where the Dentist is the HUB clinic and allied dental personnel are in community locations. The Dental Patient Navigator assists the Registered Dental Hygienist in many aspects of patient care and treatment in community settings such as schools, preschools, rural communities, and residential facilities for seniors.
We offer:
- Starting hourly range: $20 to $23 per hour
- Monday to Friday – 7:30 am to 4:30 pm

A Day in the Life of a Dental Patient Navigator with Salud:
- The majority of the time, you will be assigned to a local school where you will help bring students from their classroom to the Dental Hygienist for dental services. You will help with paperwork, call parents to schedule appointments, and provide important communication for their parents as well as school staff. You will be busy arranging, setting up, and taking down the operatory site as well as setting up dental bags for the students and much more.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED, required
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with training in a dental office
- Current BLS or CPR certificate preferred (DA)
Licensure:
- Current BLS or CPR certificate preferred (DA)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possess sensitivity toward the needs of others
- Must be a self-motivated, proactive, and independent worker
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred (not required)
- Knowledge of dental terminology and treatments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain professional composure and demeanor.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge about enrolling patients in health plans in the county is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to complete work assigned with limited supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, school personnel, and patients
- Ability to write accurate and clear documentation
- Ability to apply patient management and time management skills
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Possess excellent organizational skills
- Must work well with the patient care team
- Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities is a must
