KIDS CLUB COUNSELOR na Kenosha YMCA

Description

The Kids Club counselor will plan activities and play with Kids Club participants while in the program.  Provide direct care for children 6 weeks to 12 years in our Kids Club Room. 

Specific Duties: 

• Arrive to work dressed properly with appropriate uniform and name tag 

• Clock in and out accurately and submit hours at the end of the time period 

• Ensure health and safety of each participant 

• Greet parents and participants in a friendly and professional manner 

• Plan, conduct, and participate in activities with participants 

• Clean club room, equipment, & supplies daily as needed 

• Assist toilet trained participants with bathroom duties 

• Notify parents with child’s diaper is soiled or change diaper if authorized.  

• DO NOT release child to any person other than the person that dropped the child off 

• Check staff schedule for accuracy 

• Clean room and remove any unsafe items 

• Promote all Kenosha YMCA programs and direct questions to appropriate people 

• Notify supervisor when supplies are low or needed 

• Notify supervisor when maintenance is needed 

Qualifications

• 16 years old
• Ability to provide proof of current CPR and First Aid Certification
• Experience working with children
• Ability to work cooperatively with youth, parents, staff
• Joy and satisfaction in working with children
• Ability to work with general supervision.
• Background check cannot contain offenses restricted by state law
