About UGE:

UGE is a leading developer/IPP within the US DG industry, based in New York City and with projects across the country. We are focused on developing, owning, and operating a growing portfolio of solar and battery storage assets across the U.S.  Backed by NOVA Infrastructure, and supported by over a decade of experience across over 500MW of clean energy projects, we are looking to grow our team with a Senior Manager of project M&A.


The Opportunity:

This role will be critical in driving growth for the company by managing and closing acquisition opportunities that meet investment committee requirements and align with UGE’s overall strategy. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of renewable development and project M&A, experience in managing M&A project and portfolio transactions within the industry, an understanding of the development of assets and evaluating project risks, and strong commercial instincts.


Responsibilities 


  • Transaction Execution
    • Lead end-to-end M&A processes: due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, negotiation, and closing.
    • Coordinate with internal teams (such as development, project finance, legal, and offtake) and external advisors (banks, law firms, consultants).
  • Financial Analysis & Modeling
    • Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess project economics, returns, and risk scenarios.
    • Analyze tax equity, debt structures, and incentive programs.
  • Integration & Portfolio Optimization
    • Oversee post-acquisition integration to ensure operational continuity and value realization.
    • Support portfolio strategy and capital planning initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Prepare investment committee memos and presentations for senior leadership and the board of directors.
    • Maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, including developers and financiers.

 

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field.
  • 4–10 years of experience in renewable energy project/portfolio M&A.
  • Very organized; able to not just utilize project management tools, but also improve upon existing systems.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, project finance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Experience with tax equity and structured finance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Prior experience working for IPPs and/or renewable energy developers.
