Position Duties
In this advanced professional auditing position, you will be responsible for conducting fair, equitable, and efficient field audits to determine taxpayer compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Our team will rely on you to determine appropriate audit procedures for each assignment, as well as audit inventory needs and scheduling timeframes. You will also decide tasks to be performed by auditors of equal or lesser experience when leading a group audit and whether collateral audit assignments are needed. Work involves examining, researching, and comparing information; organizing and presenting the results of research and analysis; and providing training to other auditors. Your expertise will be essential for determining the most effective communication method with each taxpayer, when waiver extensions are necessary; and when Audit Plans are necessary to establish a mutually cooperative audit timeline with taxpayers. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- On site parking is available.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) ad hoc, based on operational and field work scheduling needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Erie. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Minimum Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years as a Revenue Tax Auditor (Commonwealth title) ; or
- Three years of professional tax accounting or tax auditing experience and a bachelor’s degree including or supplemented by 15 college credits in accounting, tax, or auditing; or
- Designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and two years of professional tax accounting or tax auditing experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check; a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding. If no applicable union-covered bidders apply, other applicants may be considered.
