The Opportunity:

Join WSP’s Transport & Infrastructure team as a Commercial Manager, where you will lead the contractual strategy and execution of major rail and public transit projects across Quebec. In this key role, you will negotiate agreements, manage relationships with clients and subcontractors, and support commercial activities across various portfolios.

What You Will Do:

  • Bid Strategy & Risk Management: Support bid decisions, risk assessments, partner selection, and internal approvals.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage various contracts (partnership, joint venture, subcontracting, etc.).
  • Proposal Support: Define commercial strategy, qualify contractual terms, assess risks, and lead negotiations.
  • Project Execution: Monitor financial health, billing, and performance in collaboration with Finance and Project Control teams.
  • Change & Claims Management: Identify scope gaps, assess impacts, resolve disputes, and document processes.
  • Stakeholder Advisory: Interpret contracts, clarify scopes, and collaborate with internal legal advisors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Conduct business analyses to optimize efficiency and performance.
  • Project Close-Out: Coordinate final evaluations, document lessons learned, and manage contractual releases.
 

What You Bring to WSP:

  • Fluency in French and English, with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Over 10 years of experience in commercial and contract management in complex project environments
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with leadership, project teams, and external stakeholders
  • High adaptability, able to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and shifting priorities
  • Knowledge of construction contracts and Canadian construction law (an asset)
  • Relevant education in project management, engineering, finance, or administration (degree or bachelor’s preferred)
  • Tech-savvy, proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Clear and diplomatic communication, able to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences
