Role

 

The Group Head of Tax will be responsible for overseeing the AZ Trade Group tax strategy, ensuring compliance with international tax regulations, while optimizing tax efficiency across all jurisdictions where the group operates. This role involves coordinating with regional CFOs/finance and tax teams, advising on tax implications of business decisions, and managing relationships with external tax authorities and advisors.

 

Main tasks

 

  • Supervision of the tax topics at global level and group transfer pricing issues,
  • Tax structuring, planning, and reorganization of activities, including tax modeling, legal agreements, and execution of transactions,
  • Handling the tax aspects of legal restructurings, mergers, acquisitions, and disposals within the group,
  • Management of the ETR (Effective Tax Rate) of AZ Trade,
  • Management of the EH group's tax team located in Brussels and coordination of internal local tax advisors,
  • Management of a pool of external advisors 
  • Involvement in the requirements of the transfer pricing documentation process and ensuring compliance with local requirements,
  • Supervision of the tax compliance process, including preparation and review of draft income tax returns, assessment notices, and coordination of audits by tax authorities,
  • General tax research, including monitoring and reviewing legislative changes and publications,
  • Liaising with Allianz Group Tax, Allianz France Tax team for the french tax matters
  • Facilitating a network across AZ Trade globally with regional/local CFOs to ensure tax follow-up and awareness in regions/countries.

 

Profile

 

  • University degree or business school degree in economics or law, with a specialization in tax law ideally complemented by a certificate of aptitude for the legal profession,
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in international taxation in a law firm or a large company,
  • Experience in the insurance sector or financial sector is a plus,
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in tax topics
  • Leadership skills with good collaboration & communication skills (written and oral communication)
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Strong organisational skills 
  • Practical mindset and ability to work under pressure
  • Good management of priorities
  • Aware of new technologies / IA / ...
