Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an experienced Technical Facilities Manager to oversee the asset maintenance and compliance activities for a portfolio of network sites across Sydney. Working closely with a major telecommunications client, you’ll ensure that essential building services and critical infrastructure operate reliably and safely.

⚙️ Reporting to the Account Manager, you’ll collaborate with a supportive BGIS team known for its strong communication, teamwork and practical approach. This role suits someone who can remain calm under pressure, manage complex stakeholder relationships and take a structured, solutions-focused approach to daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of asset maintenance, compliance and lifecycle programs across network sites
• Participate in a 1-in-7 on-call roster to support critical response requirements
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure all work meets safety, quality and performance standards
• Provide technical guidance and on-site supervision, including occasional night / after-hours works
• Manage budgets, reporting and client communications with professionalism and transparency
• Support a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

• Electrical or HVAC trade qualification (post-trade engineering or equivalent advantageous)
• Strong technical knowledge of building services and maintenance systems
• Experience managing subcontractors and service delivery in a live or critical environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to remain composed and solution-oriented in a demanding client setting

Desirable:

• Prior experience in telecommunications or critical infrastructure environments
• Exposure to Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
