PURPOSE
The System Architect will lead the design and integration of the Airport Master System, ensuring seamless interoperability between diverse airport systems including passenger processing, baggage handling, airside operations, and enterprise IT. This role is critical to enabling a smart, scalable, and resilient airport ecosystem.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Architecture Design: Develop and maintain the overall system architecture for the Airport Master System Integration (AMSI) program.
- Integration Strategy: Define integration patterns and data flows across systems such as AODB, BHS, FIDS, CUTE/CUPPS, security, and IoT platforms.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with airport operations, airlines, government agencies, and vendors to align technical requirements.
- Technology Evaluation: Assess and recommend technologies including middleware, APIs, cloud platforms, and data lakes.
- Governance & Standards: Ensure compliance with aviation standards (ACI, IATA), cybersecurity protocols, and enterprise architecture principles.
- Documentation: Produce high-quality architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and integration blueprints.
- Performance & Scalability: Design systems to handle peak passenger volumes, real-time data exchange, and future expansion.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to system dependencies, data integrity, and operational continuity.
EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a System Architect in large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.
- Deep understanding of airport systems (AODB, RMS, BHS, FIDS, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of integration technologies (e.g., ESB, API gateways, Azure/AWS, Kafka).
- Experience with data modeling, event-driven architecture, and real-time systems.
- Familiarity with aviation standards (IATA, ICAO, ACI).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or OneLake for data integration.
- Certification in TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architecture, or ITIL.
- Experience in smart airport or digital twin initiatives.
