Position Summary
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Food and Nutrition Services to be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring food and nutrition services for the Medical Center. This role ensures compliance with RWHS policies, CIHQ standards, and state and federal regulations while modeling RWHS Standards of Behavior in all interactions. This is a rare opportunity to focus on nutritional needs in a rural healthcare setting.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee daily food and nutrition services for the hospital.
- Ensure departmental compliance with CIHQ standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, goals, and objectives for the department.
- Recruit, develop, and maintain qualified staff to meet organizational goals.
- Supervise clinical nutrition services provided by registered dietitians.
- Participate in multidisciplinary committees and care team activities.
What You Bring
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
Licensure:
- Licensed as a Medical Nutrition Therapist in Nebraska (if applicable).
- Valid driver’s license.
Experience:
- Minimum of five years in a healthcare environment with food service and clinical dietetic management preferred.
- Leadership experience managing staff, budgets, and regulatory compliance.
Certifications:
- ServSafe Food Handler Certified required upon hire.
- ServSafe Food Manager Certification preferred.
- Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, if a Registered Dietitian.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP).
- Certified Food Service Manager or similar national certification for food service management and safety.
