Career Opportunities: Procurement Specialist - Water Infrastructure Assets (165351)
We have a new and exciting opportunity to make your mark in a Tier 1 company! We are the powerhouse JV of Ventia, Downer and Jacobs working in partnership wih Sydney Water as their North Delivery Team. Reporting to the Pre-Contract and Procurement Lead, your mandate is to deliver procurement support, expertise and governance across the Requests for Tender and Projects in accordance with the obligations of the Head Contract.
This key role blends your procurement experience within a commercial organisation, general knowledge of construction works, strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills along with an innate problem solving and decision making ability, attention to detail and accuracy skills. We would expect that you have tertiary qualifications in Construction, Business or a related field.

This is a permanent role with a hybrid work arrangement (4 days in the office/Onsite), and you will be part of a collaborative, close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with Head Contract obligations on procurement, including the Shared Purchasing Framework requirements
- Assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic procurement direction
- Assist the Development and Delivery Teams to develop and execute procurement plans aligned with Stage 1 Proposals (TOC submission) and Stage 2 delivery milestones and deliverables
- Compile and issue to market invitations to tender, evaluate tender responses and institute and execute on the subcontract award processes in collaboration with the Procurement Lead, legal and the Delivery Team
- Manage the end-to-end process for the prequalification of suppliers, including supporting the negotiation of agreements
- Support the management of all Head Contract Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events during Stage 1 as required
- Support to the Commercial team as required in its management of subcontracts and any related disputes or like matters
- Identify and train Project Team members in their responsibilities and obligations for procurement matters under the Head Contract and subcontracts, including variation control and approvals
- Continuously improve practices and processes through innovative ideas
- Ensure compliance with probity, confidentiality, competition, and conflict of interest in procurement activities
- Develop strong relationships with Sydney Water peers and the Confluence Water Development and Project Teams.
What You Will Bring

- Proven Procurement experience within a commercial organisation in an appropriate asset class / specialist area. These include -
- Linear Assets (Pipes, Valves, Fittings; Quarry Materials; Subcontractors;etc.)
- High and Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (Switch boards; Control Systems; Variable Speed Drivescabling; Instrumentation; Subcontractors, etc.)
- Mechanical Equipment (Pumps; Valves; Vessels; Pipework; HVAC and Air Conditioning; Subcontractors, etc)
- A general understanding of construction works.
