Alvin Farm Mechanic (32-Hours) na RiceTec, Inc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform and follow a repair and maintenance plan and preventive maintenance plan for equipment (to include but not limited to: oil changes, lubrication, replacing bearings, gears, and belts, small engine repair, welding, making equipment adjustments, and performing visual inspections)
• Equipment includes but not limited to:

• Combines / Stationary Threshers

• Planters
• Tractors
• Tillage equipment
• Irrigation systems, water pumps
• Seed / grain processing equipment
• Sprayers
• Seed Cleaners
• Mowers
• ATV and UTV
• Maintain accurate records and report progress of projects to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain the shop area with the appropriate tools, supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep in good order the shop area, shop tools, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Represent RiceTec through dealings with maintenance suppliers.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Onsite work required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent and five or more years of experience as a mechanic.

Associates Degree or Diesel Mechanic Certificate from accredited organization and three or more years of experience preferred.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Communication: Keeps leaders informed of project status.  Presents project results to team members and project leaders.  Fluency in English, excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Results Orientation: May assist in development of project goals.  Suggests methods for process improvement.
• Math Ability:  Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic math, and modern algebra.
• Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Certificates and Licenses: A Welding Certificate and a Diesel Mechanic Certificate would be preferred
