About the Role
Mercy Urgent Care is seeking a Facilities and Safety Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational performance of multiple leased and owned properties. This individual will ensure that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and efficiency while managing vendor relationships, budgets, and compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with strong technical and organizational skills. They are proactive in solving problems, effective in communication and negotiation, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently. This role requires a balance of leadership, collaboration, and operational excellence to keep all sites running smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment across multiple sites.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance and repair programs.
- Oversee contracts and relationships with vendors, service providers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure all facilities comply with local, state, and federal safety and building regulations.
- Implement safety programs, including emergency response, evacuation, and fire drills.
- Coordinate environmental, waste, and recycling programs.
- Manage renovation and construction projects, ensuring schedule and budget adherence.
- Prepare and maintain facility budgets, review invoices, and approve related expenses.
- Maintain records of inspections, compliance reports, and vendor documentation.
- Supervise maintenance staff or contractors as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial or multi-site properties.
- Strong mechanical and electrical systems knowledge.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and vendors simultaneously.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, building codes, and facility compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license with clean driving record.
- General contracting license preferred.
